I was on powerful pain meds for many years after a crippling spinal cord injury devastated my life ( and my families) but thank God I never got addicted and was able to come off them when the pain got better.. but I think watching intervention has filled me with compassion- so many of the addicts seem to deal with so much so young often and then have to deal with it all again when they get caught up in the cycle of addiction.
